TRAINING FOR GROUPS & INDIVIDUALS

HALAS offers both emergency and non-emergency training.  In addition to our quarterly scheduled continuing education, we offer classes for the community at various locations in the county as well as our main operating station in Hollidaysburg.

If you do not see a class on the calendar below that you are interested in, HALAS may be able to accommodate your needs.  Our staff includes State Certified Emergency Medical Instructors and Professional Educators.  Please contact us if you or your group is interested in setting up or joining a class.

NON-EMERGENT SERVICES

We’ll take you where you need to go! Our non-emergent services provide wheelchair and stretcher transports for the residents of Blair County and surrounding areas.

In 2002 HALAS and our sister company EMRS (Emergency Medical Resource Service) began offering non-emergent wheelchair and stretcher transports for the residents of Blair County and beyond. We currently offer round-the-clock non-emergency transport for many activities and occasions that a wheelchair-dependent person may not be able to reach in a car.

Our non-emergent service can be scheduled to transport residents to family functions, to doctors appointments, to in-patient services, home from the hospital, to the airport for vacation… anywhere you want or need to go with your wheelchair!

Paramedics

EMERGENT SERVICES

Hollidaysburg American Legion Ambulance Service provides 24 hour emergency services, combining all the latest in emergency technology with a highly trained and caring staff.

HALAS provides around-the-clock coverage for both emergency and non-emergency service. These services are provided from our company headquarters on Scotch Valley Road in Hollidaysburg and from two sub-stations—one at the Meadows intersection (Hollidaysburg) and one in the Borough of Martinsburg. Our fleet includes seven ambulances, one paramedic response vehicle, two EMS bikes and four wheelchair vans.
